  1. Yeah you can get a job, minimum wage is 3.40 though, i was able to get a job when i went to my work experience, youshould try there, it is most likly you find a job with a small business because big companies like Macdonalds or JJB, you own the big retail companies they WILL NOT employ anyone under 16. It may take a while to find a job as well because working just saturdays really limits you.

  2. Well done for wanting to make your own money...  When I was your age I had 3 part time jobs, and made quite a bit of money....

    1)   Saturday job... in an Electrical shop.... Hard work loading / unloading Lorry's but I got £15 for the day.

    2)   Sunday job ... in a Tile / Bathroom warehouse ... £10 for the day.

    3)   Week day job (after school)... staking shelves in a supermarket £1.75 per hour  12hours = £21

Total for the week was £46.

This was about 28 years ago... Very good money for 1979 / 1980 ...

My mum and dad made me stop the 3 jobs when I left school at the age of 16 to get a PROPER job... To this day I have NEVER understood their logic in making me do that. My weekly wage was almost cut in half as the PROPER job only paid £24 a week.

I,m 43 now and work for myself I have a Guest House and a Taxi business.....

Once again VERY good luck to you.... YOU will go far with this attitude... Most commendable..

Be an Entrepreneur it is the only way.

  3. You can work in quiet a few places at 14.  BUT you are restricted to the number of hours you can do each week, and the days you can do them.

I think you can do a MAXIMUM of 10 hours each week - between 7am and 7 pm.  Only 3 of them can be done on school days.

You must get written permission from your school.

  4. Well done on wanting to earn your own money! What i would suggest is sort yourself a C.V out and go into your local town go into places like cafes, markets and alot of the smaller independent shops. Most big stores don't employ until 16 this is  usually due to younger ones being a little unreliable, so when going into shops show yourself to be mature. I have employed 14/15 year olds in the past and wouldn't hesitate to again, the first impression does count tho! If you take a friend or your mum with you to look for a job make sure they stand out of the way and let you do the talking! Good Luck with your search!

  5. got to pubs they sometimes employ younger people as pot washers

and theres the usual paper rounds but dont think they are the best of jobs for girls!
