  1. its one step forward for the united states of Europe, lets hope Britain does what it did in world war 11 and stand up to this lot trying to change us into Europeans. even if we are alone.

  2. If you think that the demands will be met you are mistaken.

Brown doing a B'liar and giving more of our money to the criminals in Brussels with no return will be more likely. And the step to being dictated to in all aspects of life will, YES, be one more large step closer.

Brown is in this for Brown and no one else, Especially not England.

  3. No, its a load of rubbish! Blair/Brown's "red lines" do not exist! Its all a ploy to try to prevent the public outrage of selling Britain out to the EU.Downing Street HAS  finally admitted that the new EU treaty was 'substantially' the same as the scrapped constitution. Gordon Brown has so far rejected demands for a vote on the treaty, claiming it was different to its predecessor. But in an extraordinary U-turn, No10 conceded for the first time that the two documents are virtually identical.

The "red lines"  are said to protect  us on crime, justice, human and social rights, foreign policy and taxes. The EU already has part control of our taxes, although "red lines" were supposedly met in previous "Treaties". (the EU is about to introduce EU wide stealth taxes)

In a line-by-line study of the treaty, it found only two of 440 provisions were different - on symbols, including a flag, and an anthem.!!!

The European Scrutiny Committe (made up of mainly Labour MP's) have warned that the red lines were worthless because the Government had no legal protection in the treaty preventing it being forced to surrender key powers to Brussels 'bit by bit'.

The EU Constitution is similar to the old Soviet Union’s and builds a dictatorship. It starts with human rights platitudes, then conceals its destruction of democracy in its massive 465 pages; while the EU's Corpus Juris legal system steals our rights. Harmonising our laws with the EU over 33 years has given us the laws of a police state, temporarily unenforced. The EU’s 111,000 regulations will control our personal lives more closely than were Soviet Citizens. This Constitution makes the EU become our nation, and as a result Britain is abolished as a nation.....forever.

  4. The goal of the E.U. is ultimately have a UNITED STATES OF EUROPE. This "TREATY" which is in essence the old constitution is one step closer. The so called red lines will have no more strength in them than the hundreds of veto's, which were hard fought for by Margret Thatcher and so swiftly swept aside by Europe under the present euro friendly government. Let no one be fooled if we continue to leak power to Brussels we will end up being one large nation .

  5. The people of britain need a referendum.Let us have our say.

  6. The red lines/demands that the Prime Minister has requested are in the article below.  It says

'The government says a referendum on the treaty is not needed as it has secured control over human and social rights, foreign policy, tax and benefits.

"If we do not achieve our red lines, then I would veto the treaty," the PM told BBC One's The Andrew Marr Show.'

Saying that, I personally agree that no referendum is appropriate over the treaty.  First, the final draft has not been agreed, therefore if the pro-treaty group won the referendum,  we would be voting over giving the Prime Minister a free say in it.  If there is to be a referendum it would have to be once the final details are known.

Second, as posted above, why limit it to the treaty?  I agree that we need a referendum over our membership of the EU as a whole.  Despite what people say above, it does bring advantages, though they are right in that there is a cost in terms of laws made from Brussels and the like.  We, the UK public should be allowed a chance to debate continued membership, and if we want to stay, we stay, and if we want to leave, we leave.

  7. Don't be fooled, the socalled 'red lines' aren't worth the paper they are written on as they have NO LEGAL STATUS.

This is just Brown huffing and puffing and the BBC aiding and abetting. There must be a referendum.

People, we must realize this is one massive power grab and the death blow for national sovereignty. The EU therefore must be destroyed.

  8. These 'demands' and 'red lines' etc are red herrings.

They are lies to make it look as if we are being protected from becoming a federal European State which will very soon have total control over our daily lives.

Both parties are guilty of it.

We voted in 1973 to become part of a European COMMON MARKET which states exactly what it was.

Since then, both parties when in  power, have stealthily eroded our national identity and passed ever increasing powers to an unelected, undemocratic Europe, so that now it is all powerful.

Has no-one noticed how our customs are being eroded, our Church of England (whether you are religious or not, it is ours) is being sidelined in favour of foreign religions.

Muslim's can basically do as they please, Roman Catholicism has never been as popular, simply because it is a European religion whereas the Church of England is not, it is English..

We now have Health and Safety (An obvious arm of Govt.) putting enormous pressure on council to scrap Christmas lights in our cities streets and they say it is all in the interests of safety.   We have done it for decades without any injuries so why now.  It's obvious, they want to do away with Christmases as they were and still should be.

    God save Britannia.

  9. Brown's a liar,do not be sucked in.We need a referendum.

  10. We have been here so many times before when the likes of Thatcher and Major reduced Britain's control of our own laws and rights  whilst saying they had drawn red lines past which Brussels could not go. Guess what? It all turned out to be total b*****ks.

The result; almost totally unfetterred immigration, a human rights act that abuses the freedoms of the innocent whilst protecting the evil, with fountains of your money being made available to the human rights lawyers, (eg. Cherie Blair).

And coming soon most of our primary legislation being made and enforced from Brussels.

    Goodbye free, democratic Britain.

    Great no more!
