  1. take an hgv 1 and you will get a job at your age the company i work for are always looking for drivers and they employ over 200 drivers if you got a hgv 1 you will not have any trouble geting a job

  2. they done away with class 3  .. .   you will have to sit a test and pass your class 2 first... up to 4 axles rigid  then do your class 1...  articulated..    you need to pass a medical from you own doctor to send with your form for a provisioal  lgv...     over 45 and you need to take a medical every 5 years..  always plenty of work for drivers ...   it  depends what you want to do really...  maybe you know a triend who needs a lgv driver and will look after you...but  you always earn your money in this game... some jobs  not as goood as it sounds..  long days ..  early starts..  traffic...

  3. Yeha HGV1 covers everything

  4. HGV 1 will cover everything,  so that's the best to take.your eye site must be 100% so if your not sure get glasss. but at 51 to be honest you very unlikly to get a lorry driving job if you have just passed your test.

  5. First off, the old H.G.V. Class 1,2 and 3 no longer exist.

They were changed 15 years ago to L.G.V. Category C and C+E (there is no equivalent for Class 3 any more).

It still amazes me how many people aren't aware of this.

You will have to take your Class C (rigid) before you can take your Class C+E (artics).  Budget around £2,000 to £3,000 for the whole lot.

  6. Hgv 1.is articulated that means it pivots ,and takes 30 /40 /45,ft trailers..class 2 is tipper type  with fixed bodies and large fixed wheel lorries, class 3 smaller lorries up to 17 ton usually 4 wheelers.
