I'm going to London to study English this summer and i'm going to stay for 2 weeks. I realised that it's too expensive to use my mobile operator's roaming services,so I've decided to buy a UK prepaid card. Can anyone give me some advice about buying it? I need to be able to receive calls from my country and to call my country and to text them. I've looked websites of most popular operators but wasn't able to find enough information. Help me,please. Thank you in advance.

P.S.I live in Croatia - (small country near Hungary,Slovenia,Italy and Austria)

  1. O2 are the best. They offer discount if you top up a certain amount every month, and are always sending me messages about deals. The best thing to do is go into the shop once in London and ask. My sister was with vodaphone but never got anything with them and the calls were very expensive so she changed to O2.

Another thing for ringing to your country is to buy an international calling card from any newspaper shop and with this you can call from a land line or mobile and the calls will be alot cheaper. But I wouldnt call abroad from a mobile except for emergencies. I have just returned to live in Spain after some months in the UK, I bought a phone and used O2, texts to Spain were fine, I did call once or twice, but not on a regular basis, and my daughter text and called me from Spain. She also has an international calling card in Spain costs 12E and lasts for ages to call UK or anywhere else for that matter. Hope this helps.

  2. O2
