I'm a housewife and mother and love my family to bits but they all have active lives and I bored and lonely. What can I do to make friends?

me too , im a single mum o 2 and get so bored , i want to do some college courses but my baby only one year old and has to be two for colllege creche , i go to mums and tots sometimes but depend how old your kids are as only for babies really

perhaps you could find out about college courses or a part time job , you usually make friends at work, some areas also have parent groups for bored parents ,

also dance classes , theatre groups - all for adults aswel as kids and a lot of churches and community centres have coffee mornings

Yes seeing others happy and active makes you look at yourself and think "hmm well im not like that" it really shows you doesnt it. Well how about you go swimming, jogging, do more sports and meet more people or go down the pub for a drink while the kids are at school or something.

Most mums I think make friends with other mums as they have common ground and things to talk about. Maybe talking to other mums at the school gate etc.

Go to a martial arts class or a yoga group it will help you meet new people and the former will teach you to defend your self in an ever increasingly dangerous world.
