Question:

UK people - Do you trust the small independent fast food restaurants in "Rough parts" of your town?

Owned by mostly Asian immigrants (in my case) like independent fried chicken, indian or kebab places which also serve pizza and stuff. I avoid them at all costs - most of their ingredients come from way outside the UK, therefore you have no way of knowing where the stuff you eat comes from, also many cases of food poisoning are linked to places like that.

Do you agree or not?

  1. yes i agree

  2. Horror stories? Jeeze every fast food shop has had that stuff. Each independant shop is different. Did you hear about that rat found in a snickers bar? The guy that used to o****m into Mcflurries and then serve them? The woman who found a chicken head instead of a McDonalds nugget? A caterpillar found in peas?

They usually get their meat from local BRITISH butchers. Don't listen to those stories. Clearly you haven't been around to different places. Its a stereo-type that Asian imiigrants own all of those shop. Whoever heard of an Asian owner of an Indian food shop? Well... duh. Come on wake up.

If you're unsure of a fast food shop then check out their Health Inspection awards or just see if the shop is dirty.

  3. i disagree.  today in the UK...food outlets have to keep a record of all deliveries...dates...products etc...& log it into your food management book.

there are regular inspections by the enviromental health department & we have to check food temperatures often..during the day...honestly - cafes, resturants - whatever food they sell...is absolutely safe in the UK...i promise...i own a cafe!!

  4. d**n right i do !

for the reasons you have stated .

  5. I often wonder about it and not just foreign ones, I am not too keen on any fast food places.

  6. yes......

  7. I only go to places i know are clean. My LOCAL local chippy is run by a chinese family, very nice family might i add, but they're just simply not very clean. They were closed down when someone found maggots in their food.

So i go to a chippy a bit less local. It's only a 10 minute walk from the other chippy but its much cleaner [and has nicer food! AND does Burgers :]]

  8. Ok I'm not in the UK, but there are "rough parts of town" everywhere, and where I live we too have a "rough part of town" where I won't eat, but to be quite honest with you, if I were forced to pick one restaurant to eat in, from a rough neighborhood, the asian restaurant would be my first choice.

Maybe it's a false perception of mine, but Asians seem to be cleaner to me than the S****y people who work at other restaurants in bad neighborhoods. They're probably on drugs, they probably sleep around, they're just not clean people.

I know there are exceptions to every rule,  but I just think that asians are cleaner in general.

Even in the nicer parts of town, if I walk in to a fast food restaurant and someone is covered in certain kinds of tatoos or wears their hair a certain way , or wears pants hangin off their butt...that's a real problem. Because if the manager doesn't care about those things, they aren't caring much about cleanliness.

  9. There is no reason to trust these any less than the high class restuartants.

There are a few people with poor food prep and storage habits in all levels of catering.

But my experience of dealing with cafes and restaurants is that most are OK, even in the roughest parts of town.

  10. yes, because "Asian immigrants" tend to be dirtier and less hygenic than people like you. that's a proven scientific fact, isnt it?! because your nan told you that there were no germs in 'her day'.

  11. Some I do, the pizza shop in the next village down has been esablished for years and it's great! The one in my village? Less so unless you want some exotic disease from eating rat.

Just to add, it makes no difference to me if a white person, an asian person, or an octopus named Dave owns it. I just don't trust these places!

  12. I totally agree with you. I've heard some real horror stories about take-aways and some of the stuff that gets thrown into curry etc, some of it would turn your stomach sick!

  13. No id avoid those c**p holes, You know there dodgy if they sell foreign coke, and they all sell foreign coke.

  14. Yes I've watched "Life of Grime"
