UK people: how much do you usually spend on gas and electricity at this time of year?

I have a prepaid meter, and my housemates are saying we're paying far too much for electricity. I loaded £30 3 weeks ago and it's down to £6. We have no big tv's or anything like that, we turn things off at the wall, and we are always switching lights off unless we're in the room. My house is usually dark.

Is it just expensive or is something afoot?

We go through about the same with 3 of us living at our place.

The truth is its just overpriced and pre-paid meters are even more expensive. It couldn't hurt to have someone just to look at the metre anyway to make sure there's no fault with it.
