12BET.com UK snooker championship is into the semi-finals round. Audience at Telford and viewers across the globe have witnessed some sensational matches. The giants of the world snooker are face-to-face in the last-8 round of this championship.
In the first quarter-final, world number 11 young Mark Allen took on Stuart Bingham. It was unquestionably a fighting match, as the match at one point was levelled at 7-7, leaving only 3 frames to decide the fate of the match.
It was a very tough call, to which Allen responded better in the last sessions, and won the first quarter-final of the tournament 9-7.
The 24-year-old world number 11 has reached the fifth semi-final or last-4 round of his career, where he will have to face the big shot John Higgins, who has rolled in to the semis quite comfortably. Higgins has been able to win 16 out of 17 matches, after
his come back to the world snooker. “It’s my fifth semi-final and hopefully it will be my first final, and I will be the man to stop John,” said Allen.
The second quarter-final match of the last-8 round had John Higgins and world number 5 Stephen Maguire facing each other. Despite the fact that both the players are good friends and practice partners, the match attracted a large number of audiences.
It was a crunch match, as Maguire made a sizzling start with frame scores of 137 and 76. Maguire managed to convert his deficit into a lead, but world number 2 John Higgins came back strongly and stopped Maguire from any further lead. Higgins managed to
win three frames from there on consecutively with the scores of 82, 83 and 70, and sent Maguire home for early Christmas shopping.
Third quarter-final will be played between world number 60 Mark Joyce and world number 6 Mark Williams. Doubtlessly this will be an interesting match, as Joyce is having the best run of his career. Joyce has called out to his fans for support, and world
snooker is helping, interestingly if you are supporting Joyce, you can get two tickets in the price of one. On the other hand, Mark Williams is keen to win the match and eager to face man-on-fire Neil Robertson.
The last quarter-final is expected to be more balanced and tough, as world number 1 Australian cueist Neil Robertson takes on world number 4 Shaun Murphy. Robertson is having a wonderful tournament so far, as he has been able to knock out some of the best
cue-men in the game. On the other hand Shaun is all set to put a stop to the Australian-on-fire and reach to the last-4 round of the tournament.
The championship has turned into a very interesting one, with the mix of some new talent challenging the big guns in the game.  Third and fourth quarter-finals will be played at International centre, Telford on Thursday.
