had my first go last summer amazing, where's the best place to catch a wave- specific beaches please in cornwall/devon or wales during summer?

  1. Generally in the summer the further west you go the stronger the swell. So Saying that Sennen and Gwynver should be the biggest

    But the shifing sand bars can have a dramatic effect on the waves. The summer just gone I surfed at Gwynver and it was barely waist hight and 20 miles up the coast at Porthtowan, it was over head. That week the sand bars at sennen were screwed. Also add a bit of South westerly wind to the situation and the main beaches, Porthtowan. Gwithian. Perranporth. Fistral. etc etc can be blown to buggery and flattened off, and sheltered places like St Agnes. St Ives. Towan and Harlyn. Will be barreling due to the off shore wind.
