UK water laws- Are you allowed a dingy on a river in the thinner part of the Thames?

I understand the risks so no comments telling me im stuipid please but would you be allowed to just float in a river in a dingy?

  1. Legal, yes.

    BUT you may need some form of river license. Normally 10 to 20 GB pounds for a year, but there is likely to be a day / weekly rate as well.

    You can always hire a "dinghy": rowing or motor type from many places like Marlow / Henley / Oxford etc. Or a sailing type from fewer places.
