  1. Maybe it's because they won't insure her with the kind of car she has, for her first year.

I'm with Kwik Fit insurance, I'm 18, and only had my licence since December last year. It's costing me around £800 for this year, so it's not cheap, and I have an 02 Black KA.

What kind of car does she have?

  2. bell car insurance is a good one i have used them on several occasions for short term or long term. i found alot more companys on web by typeing in short term car insurance and then searching. do not let them lead you up the garden path you tell them what you want and how long you want it for and when they ask you what millage you are going to do make sure you keep it to below 4000 miles a year and this will keep your premium down. ok good luck

  3. No, doubtful she'll find any.

I'm with Direct Line and on the back of my policy it states something along the lines that my car is not to be driven by anyone either under the age of 18 and if the person has had their license for less than 1 year and is involved in an accident, they have to stump up £250 towards the insurance claim.

At that age and with the lack of experience (your mate could be the best drive in the world, but all new drivers get marked down in this way), a lot of insurers get very twitchy about such temporary cover.
