Ernest Vasquez had the influential role of head coach, who put up a valiant effort. However, the team finished with ‘not so good’ results. The ratio of defeats was higher than victories in the season. In the next run, the Warkawks are going to start a new
season and the team-roster has seen some changes.
Warhawks’ roster has the addition of seven new players, just for the sake of improvement. The names of the new Warhawks warriors are as followed:
Sarah Tatarko
Hazel Perrens
Nora Burvap Lavik
Katie Harrington
Amy Grabiec
Maria Garcia
Madison Martin - Granbury, Texas
Most recently, Madison Martin was added to the roster of ULM volleyball team. She signed a contract with the Warhawks after achieving a lot of success at Granbury High School in Granbury, Texas. She played in the Granbury High school volleyball team (Lady
Pirates) as a senior and received many honours. She made it to the 4A All-State and Texas High School All-Star game.
Martin played a vital role in the team and led the Lady Pirates to third Class 4A Regional Quarterfinals in 2011. She also settled for the Player of the Year Award in District 7. Now that she has become a part of the ULM Warhawks, it is expected that she
will put the same effort for the improvement of ULM volleyball programme.
Head Volleyball Coach Vasquez has a great faith in her skills. He stated: "I am most impressed by Madison's all around skills. She is a pure volleyball player in every sense of the word. She can do every skill on the court and her background
in gymnastics makes her a very dynamic athlete who is fun to watch. In addition, she has a mental focus that is well above many players her age. I am expecting big things from her In the future.
Not only Martin but all the other players added to the ULM roster are determined to uplift the performance of team during the 2012 season. They are currently practicing together and going through the process of forming good combinations.
ULM will surely produce better results with the new set of players.
