you gotta try this!

Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will stump you.

Personally I would like to know who came up with this and why that

person is not running the country.

Grab a calculator.

(you won't be able to do this one in your Head)

1.

Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the Area

code...)

2.

Multiply by 80

3.

Add 1

4.

Multiply by 250

5.

Add to this the last 4 digits of your phone number

6. Add to this the last 4 digits of your phone number again.

7.

Subtract 250

8.

Divide number by 2

Do you recognize the answer ??

  11. that was pretty cool.....lol

  12. if you are american it only works in america. im Australian and it didnt work for me i tried it a couple times.

  13. i dont get it

    jenniferhogg@hotmail.com

  14. cool :]

  15. If you are in Australia, type in the first 4 digits of your phone number at step 1. Then it works.

It's a simple calculation made complex:

X - first half of your phone number

Y - second half of your phone number

    X*(80+1)*250=X*20250

    X*20250+2*Y=2*(X*10,000+Y)+250

now subtract 250 and divide by 2 leaves you with

X*10,000+Y which is your phone number

To get the first half of your phone number to 'join up' with the second part you have to multiply it by 10,000 (shift it 4 decimal places to the left).

    Clever though...
