UPDATE on 3 Shih Tzus and dads pup, plus a new question?

I just got back from the vets. Good news. My dogs are safe because it wasn't Parvo, the puppy had salmonella.

Bad news. The puppy died. It was really bad, and too much for her system. It had found a partially decayed turtle in the yard, and chewed on it.

The new question. The puppy was added to the family after an older dog died (She was 15) How do you tell a 6 year old and a 8 year old their new buddy passed away?

I don't know... That's terrible. I guess you'll just have to be open and honest about it. Tell them how the puppy died, and that you did all you could to help it. Let them know its ok to be sad about it. Maybe have a little funeral/memorial.
