  1. x+1/x^2-5x-14 = (x+1)/(x-7)(x+2)

    So B (-2,7) is undefined for x+1/x^2-5x-14

  2. why don't you try plugging in all the values ? or if you're lazy heres a shortcut.

first factor out the denominator, you don't really need to look at the numerator since undefined means a zero in the denominator

    x^2-5x-14 = (x-7)(x+2)

then look at your choices and see which numbers would make the solution zero

look at (x-7) first.  if x = 7 then the answer would be 0, therefore 7 is one of the solutions.

now look at (x+2).  if x = -2, then the answer would also be 0, therefore -2 is your other solution

now when x = 7 and -2 the statement would be undefined so B is your answer !

  3. wow man. I was feeling pretty amazing about myself how i passed 8th grade math with an A. I was really proud of that. Thanks for making me feel miserable again.
