  1. Type: Parrolette...they have different color mutations.

Feed:  Cockatiel Seed and 4 tablespoons Canary Seed

    Clean cage: Once a week

Vet cost: Check with local Avian Dr. take the bird to get it's nails trim from the pictures you posted the nails are very long and they will start to hurt the bird's feet as he walks. The nail trim would probably cost between $10-15 dollars.

Reduce fighting: House them in seprate cages....give them their one on one time with you.

Cage size: Minimum cage side is 18" x18"x18" with maximum bar spacing be 1/2"- 5/8"

Keep your parrotlet away from smoke, toxic flame and fumes. Never light scented candles around your bird. Do not use aerosols, chemicals, cleaners, Ferbeeze, around your bird. Using the self-cleaning oven option on your oven may kill your bird. Do not place your bird in front of drafty windows, or radiating heat. Keep your bird off houseplants, as many of them are poisonous. Make sure you supervise your parrotlet at all times never leave them unsupervised with children, and never allow them to play with other pets. Parrotlet’s are tiny, and accidents can easily occur. I would suggest having a play gym or stand for your bird to play on.

Never take your parrotlet outside of the house without a cage. Even with trimmed wings they can still glide, and can harm themselves. When traveling in the car make sure your bird is in a cage, preferably secured by a seatbelt. Never let your parrotlet loose I the car.

  2. From the pictures it looks as though you have 2 female parakeets, though I have never seen such beautiful coloring in a parakeet.  The cage you have is plenty big enough for 2 birds.  Do you have plenty of toys in there?  You need alot of playthings made from different materials, plastic, wood etc.  You can use twigs, limbs from trees, just be sure to wash them well, then bake in the oven to remove any parasites etc.  You can go to a craft store and buy parts to make your own with small chain, leather strips, and it is very inexpensive compared to store bought.  Also, do you cover the cage at night?  Birds need about 12 hours of darkness each day.  Cranky tired birds can be aggressive.  As for food, I prefer pellet to seed, less mess, but you can't just put them on pellet cold turkey, you have to gradually wean them to it.  I wash down our birds cages once a week, we have a parakeet, a Nanday Conure and a Blue and Gold Macaw.  Change the bottom newspaper, bedding, whatever you use, as it needs it.  You should have a small treat cup of gravel in the cage, this helps digestion.  A bird can eat pretty much anything you do, except for "gassy foods" like cabbage, cucumbers, no celery, no chocolate.  Our birds eat pretty much whatever we are eating for dinner.  They love pasta, fish, pork, steak, all veggies, french fries(if salted very limited), drink out of our glasses, no soda!, and oh yeah, they LOVE yogurt and it is VERY HEALTHY for them, they eat it off of the spoon.  Good luck with your birds, and I hope this info helps you.

  3. Um do you have a picture of the birds? Or a discription of what they look like, the bird size, i can't really answer alot of these unless i know about these birds...but you should clean the cage maybe once or twice a week. and maybe put them in seprate cages to reduce fighting. if thats not too much trouble.

  4. Ok, first thing....

Your birds (believe it or not) are parakeets.

You need to feed them seeds that say budgie mix.

You should clean their cage 4 times a week (but change their water everryday)

You shouldn't have to take them to the vet...

To reduce fighting, put them in seperate cages...this will actually stop the fighting and they'll feel better. I strongly advise this.

BIGGER THAN WHAT YOU HAVE. :D

Show love to them and make sure that they are not in a place that is cold (like a basement or some other part of te house) Make sure that their in a part of the house that people are in alot. :)

    Hope this helps....
