My horse ran into the muck heap last year where there was a wasps nest hiding, he had LOADS of stings and needed an injection to reduce the irritation and prevent a serious reaction to them so I would gather Yes, they can be allergic but i would imagine it would need to have substantial stings for a reaction to occur
