  1. Try lubricating eye drops to put in your eyes so they are not so dry. When you try and go to sleep try and totally relaxing your body.

  2. Dry eye syndrome is extremely difficult to treat.  The only medication on the market is Restasis and it has limited success.  The only other treatments are palliative, eye drops, ointments, eye cleaners and punctal plugs.  The best advice I can give you is to consult an ophthalmologist for an evaluation and treatment options.

  3. Sleep definitely might be affecting the dry eye problem, so the first solution would be to get 8 hours of good sleep a night.  You can also use artificial tear drops, however, do not get the red eye removal drops--in the long run they can be very bad for your eyes.  If it is a persistent problem you should talk to your eye doctor.  They have a procedure to put plugs in one of the drainage ducts in your eye causing the tears to drain slower.  My mom had the procedure done a few years ago and is extremely happy with the results.

Good luck, I hope you find a solution that works for you!

  4. I've been nearsighted since the age of 10 and it's only in recent years that I have also started to develop dry eyes. In my case, it's probably due to the fact that I'm getting older. I'm in my late 40s.

  5. they have lots of drops out there. do not use visine (its ok) but for dry eyes you want more of a gel. put the drops in at night, and leave by your bed. when you wake up at night put a few more in. go to the eye department at the store and look for DRY EYE formula the thicker the better, you will see blurry but it really helps. i go through the same thing. also there is an rx your dr can prescribe for you.

  6. Dry eyes do not and will not cause myopia.  I suspect that when you cry your eyes are squinted and this causes the percieved improvement in your vision.  By squinting you limit the amount of light coming in and allow only the light rays that are "straighter" and this causes your vision to be better.  I highly recommend glasses or contact lenses for the myopia (noone wants to walk around squinting all the time) and drops such as optive or systane for your dry eyes.
