My fish is dying, and he's been lying on his side for a good 2 days. My fish has also been doing weird flips and not floating at all. I think his fins are hurt, so he can't float. He's not eating either. His fins are a bit black coloured. I've separated him from the aquarium, so that he won't affect my other fish. My other fish has black coloured fins too, and I would like to know why and what caused it. I would also like know how I can save the fish that is dying, are there any ways?

  1. its an infetction. go to the vet!

  2. Pega o disfribilador e da um choque nele!

Vai que ele volta a ativa!

    Abraço!!!!!!

  3. Maybe the fish are depressed

  4. Fish's fins often become black when they are recovering from ammonia burns, if that's the case the black fins will not be making him ill. It will probebly be something else,

weird flips? this could be swim bladder? it's when air gets trapped inside the fish's body they can't swim properly, is he still eating? feed him peas and other veggies? make his food sink he gets this from taking in too much air whilst eating?

this would not be causing him to die however so i don't know whatelse he has, whatever it is this would be the serious thing, i suggest you get to your local fish store and get some goldfish medicine. Methylene Blue seems to bring fish back from the brink of death so i recommend that.

    Good Luck

  5. I haven't encountered this, but it could be a bacteria or fungal problem.  Are the fins deteriorating or fraying?  If they are then it could be fin rot.  The main causes of any type of disease is water quality and/or overfeeding, but if both have it then I would say that your LFS has a problem, either way you have it now.  What type of fish is it?  They make water treatments for all ailments, but without knowing exactly what it is makes it hard to determine the correct one.  however there is a cure all so to speak and that is the addition of aquarium salt.  It must be aquarium salt, not table salt.  As long as your fishies are not scaleless they should be ok.  hope this helps.

  6. chlorine in the water often causes this.

anti chlorinater would be worth a shot,

other than that, i cant think of any causes that would make the fish do that..

    Good Luck,

P.S. possibly try calling a fish docter, as crazy as it sounds, they're usually found in the phonebook...

  7. faça respiração boca a boca nele..!!

  8. lets start by asking what kind of fish are we talking about ??

has the fish been acting like this very long

it sounds like a swimbladder issue at the same time the weird flips sounds like water temp shock do to difference in temp when he was added to the tank how long did you float him

what is the ammonia level and nitrite levels in the tank

  9. umm if he is over weight they will attend to float to the top and play "oposum" all i  would do is flick him over and see if that helps.

other wise sorry dud for the loss.
