URGENT. PLEASE HELP!!!! Going to Cancun Mexico...need help with packing a hair straightener?!

Recently, I just had my hair cut so that it requires some straightening in order to look nice and in order to accommodate my new look, I just bought a quite expensive flat iron. However, my family and I are going to the Cancun Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico. On the website, it says that they provide "Farouk Bath Amenities." Because of the extensive research it took to buy the straightener, I know that "Farouk" is the name of a highly prestigious beauty company also known for their "CHI" flat irons. While in Mexico, I do NOT want to be caught with my hair looking in disarray, but I don't want to bring my brand new straightener on the plane with me to Mexico and risk losing/forgetting my straightener on my trip. Therefore, does anyone know if the "Farouk " Bath amenities mean that a straightener is available? Or if you have been to the Cancun Palace, would I be able to use a hair straightener complementary of the resort? I do have an OLD straightener but it is dying/dead and I'm not sure if it needs an adapter. My new straightener can be used in most ANY country however...like i said i would REALLY like it if I did NOT have to take it on vacation. So....please Help!!!???

  1. Bath amenities means soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc.  Pretty much all hotels provide a basic, small hair dryer.  Other than that, you need to bring your own things, including your straightener.  I agree with the previous poster, it is going to be very humid, so you might want to consider other ways to style your hair.  Possibly scrunch it with sculpting gel so it will be wavy.  That would hold up much better.

  2. I wouldn't take it either way because it is so humid there that no matter what hair straigntener you have its going to get frizzy.

  3. i went to cancun palace and they dont provide any SPECIAL things like straighteners..just because its all inclusive doesnt mean they provide everything

besides its soo humid there that no matter how good ur straightener is..ur hair will frizz...a blow dryer and comb should be enough

u could bring ur old straightener if u wanted...u can usually plug in most electronics in mexico

  4. And this is "URGENT?"

Forget about your hair looking nice down here.  The salt air, wind, and humidity will pretty much wipe out any and all efforts to keep your hair under control.  And, though I don't know this for sure, I seriously doubt that your resort will provide anything more than the basics, like shampoo and conditioner.  If you feel you need more than that, you should bring it with you.  And though there may be a hair dryer available, it's also highly unlikely that the resort will provide a flat iron.  Again, you will be much happier if you find a way to do your hair that doesn't require being straight - you'll be very unhappy here if that's what you have to have.
