Question:

URGENT Problem!!!! Re: Sending Emails in Microsoft Outlook. ?

I usually send and receive emails through Outlook Express, however I have just realised that when I have clicked on a link in a website to send an email, I have typed it through Microsoft Outlook (which opens automatically-not outlook express).

I've just found half a dozen unsent emails in there that I desperately need to send - hoever they won't go anywhere!!! I've tried send/receive and not sure how else I can change my settings to send them,

Any ideas?

  1. Your outgoing smtp will be based on your ISP..mine is Sky so my outgoing smtp is: pop.tools.sky.com give your ISP a ring and ask them or check out they're website :)

  2. sounds like Outlook isn't configured correctly to connect to your email server.

    go into Outlook Express and view/edit your current settings of your smpt & pop3 servers.

    then go back into Outlook and go to Tools > Accounts and edit (or create) an account with those same settings.

    or just copy/paste your replies from Outlook and create a new message in Express and send them from there.

    to keep websites from opening Outlook when you click on a mailto link, go into Internet Explorer. Go to Tools > Internet Options.  Select the Programs tab.  Set your email client to be Outlook Express instead of Outlook.

    ----------more------->

    also, in Outlook, your messages are probably sitting in your "outbox".  If you've opened them up to view them and then just closed them, they won't get sent.   You'll notice when you view the contents of your outbox the messages don't show in italics and/or bold font.  To send them, open them back up and then click the Send button instead of just closing the email.
