Question:

URGENT: YOUR OPINION Burger King - Napking AD?

by  |  earlier

In the burger king ad, father whopper is giving a "napkin" standing for a condom to keep in his wallet because "he will meet more girls, now that he is $1."

What is this supposed to mean? As in, just because a guy is supposed to be easily affordable, more girls will want to meet him?

Please help me to decipher the ad and what you think it implies?

  1. i think it means that the whopper jr. is a dollar and that since the burger is a dollar more people will walk in to buy it.  i don't think it has any other meaning.

  2. i dont think you are suppose to go that much into the commercial. All the want you to do is go into burger king and buy food.

  3. I think it implies that since there's food for only $1 at Burger King, something a teen can afford, he may get more dates because the father is implying that burger king is popular among the ladies.  And in case this happens, at least he has protection in case anything else does happen.

  4. not seen it as am inUK  but this sounds horrible

  5. Wow ..you have become the 1st man to analize a burger commercial!! you sound right though.

  6. I believe more women buy the junior whopper as it’s smaller than the much more caloric larger whopper (since more women tend to have more concern about portion control).  Since more women might have bought that whopper in the first place, dropping the price to $1 will, likely, mean that even MORE people (therefore more women) will choose that item.  It sounds to me like they’re capitalizing on a trend and approaching it in a racy, tongue-in-cheek way – smaller portion interests women, lower price interests everyone, and the s**y connotation with the stand-in ‘condom’ will interest men.  That’s how I tend to look at it.

  7. I don't really understand it either.  None of the BK commercials really make sense to me. I think they are stupid.

  8. Why is this urgent? I never saw that commercial so i dont know.
