i have a baby crow that fell out his nest this morning, i gave the mother like 6 hours and she never came back for him. I work at an animal hospital and the vet gave me instructions on how to take care of it. We closed at 6 so i cannot contact her. Im wondering, where can i get great information on weaning a baby crow. and do they usually fall asleep right after they eat? He's still breathing so he's not dead, but is very weak from being so long without food. i couldnt get my hands on mealworms, everyone was out so i gave him baby bird formula. Thank you for your help

  1. I don't think it's smart to give baby animals (that eat mmeal worms) mealworms.  Something about the head still being attached...like it can eat through their stomachs..that may be different for them though.

If you think about it, baby birds normally eat what I'm sure you wouldn't do..it's regurgitated food.

If I were you I would type "baby crows" in google and look through all of the pages and find out as much about them as quickly as you can.

Otherwise I wish you the best of luck and hope that it pulls though.  They are one of the smartest birds on the planet..might not make a bad pet unless you plan to release it.
