Hello

I recently posted a topic on the subject, but now I need to be directed to where the manual tilt part on an outboard is. It is a 90s (i think) 70hp evinrude, I really need help because i dont want to play around with it for fear of it falling of or something else equallyhorrible, so If any of you could take a pic of were the s***w is, or tell me where I can, and what I can do, to get this motor lifted manually I will be very grateful. I dont have the manual and as I am getting rid of this motor I am not going to buy one. Any advise on what to do to get this thing lifted would be most appreciated, a very kind member explained that it was located on the waterline at the mounting, but I still dont know where.

Cheers

  1. usually the hydraulic pump does not lock the engine down what you can try and do is drain the pump located behind the leg at the water line their should be a drain s***w at the bottom left of the pump drain the pump and make sure your  manual lock is not on located just under the power head on the right side behind your leg the engine should then lift . If you are by yourself doing this job use abit of gentle pushing with a lift or pry bar watch your fingers on that leg .

  2. You can't be helped if you're not going to open your eyes and look and get dirty.
