URGENT plz help. lately this month a pigeon laid an egg on my window sill and it hatched the baby pigeon .....

Well the baby pigeon came out of the egg and after about a week the mother pigeon left the baby alone.Now the baby pigeon is still on my sill. It has grown up but is not able to fly yet.We put bread on our sill for it to eat and even water in a small tube for it but it will neither eat nor drink .PLZ HELP US OUT.

Ok. First of all the person that wanted to squash is is mean and cruel. It is a living thing and a baby at that. People carry diseases to! Now to the problem. Watch from a hiding place to see if the parents feed it. may have been scared off if they saw you or there was a predator in the area. they should come back if it cries. If not then you need to call a wildlife rehabber in your area or a vet that takes wildlife. It is free either way. Until then depending on how big the pigeon baby is it needs to be kept warm. You can do this by placing it in a coolwhip bowl then inside a box and put a heating pad under the box. Pigeons are hard to feed as they are fed crop milk by the parents. To feed you will need to get a syringe 1cc and get some baby handfeeding formula at pets store. Then you need to place the syringe down the birds throat and push plunger so food comes out. Not just in mouth down throat into neck area. Ther are many websites on feeding them. Do not give water as it will choke. The parents only feed every babies every 2 hours or so. And not at all at night. Best bet is for a rehabber to get it or a vet. Good luck and thanks for caring.

k what you have to do is go to the nerest vetrinarian hospitol and tell them your story. they will know what to do. do not try to move it your self you could hurt it. leave that up t the vet to decide. for the mean time google what painguins eat beleve it or not even baby pigeons eat fish. also if you can rent the movie march of the pingoins it will show you every thing to do. good luck.

If the baby is growning, it is being fed by the mother.

The parent will not stay with the baby 24 hours a day..they have to leave to feed themselves.  Are you sure the bird is not still tending to the baby and you are just missing it's visits?  If you are constantly checking on it, you may be scaring the parent away. You need to watch continually from a hidden area to see if the parent is still feeding. The baby is not going to eat bread..they usually eat reguritated food from their parents when they are that young.  Also, putting food out there can attract predators.

Give him a small wooden box to stay. And feed him some grain twice a day. Don't give him water every time give him water only in feeding time. Because if  it try to bath it is harmful regular bath for baby Pigeon. let him bath thrice in a week when he will be minimum of 2 monthes. If he don't eat anything mix water in dust of pegion pea and feed him with dropper. Or open his beak and put some small chick pea in it one by one and then give him water with dropper.

It is easy to keep a pigeon. your pegion can fly  when he will be atleast 2 months. And he never go away from you and stay in the wooden box. If you want to keep him give him a mate of opposite s*x.
