Hi, Sorry this is going to be long. It's the 26th of August. I had a severe asthma attack on the 7th of August & was then in an induced coma with a tube down my throat breathing for me until the 14th of August. I was sent home on the 20th August, the thing is I can't really talk... I'm having problems with my voice, its a struggle to talk... My throat doesn't hurt but I'm having a hard time talking and drinking water... Every time I drink water I choke... I used to breathe through my mouth only but since waking I only breathe through my nose... My voice seems to have gotten better the last two days but it's still quiet and hard to talk and a bit croakey... I feel strange in general as well, I haven't driven since I went to hospital because I'm too scared and don't feel alert. Also, I can't burp anymore, I have to wait for it to come out its self and I haven't sneezed since I woke up. My throat feels weird too. I was a smoker before going to hospital too could this be why I feel weird? Could you please let me know what happened to you after being on a breathing machine in a coma and how long it took for your voice to return and how lonbg until you felt normal? Thankyou all so much.
