I've had a relationship with a boy from Scotland and I live in the US and am a citizen here. He is coming to visit in November and we want to get married. But when we are married we want to live in Scotland, not in America. Can anyone tell me how to go about this, how long it will take or anything that can help? Also when I would be able to live in Scotland?? Thanks for the help.

  1. You should be checking on the immigration site for the UK, similar to the INS website here.  As a US citizen you can enter the UK without having to get a visa ahead of time which gives you 6 months to do your paperwork before it expires. And if it gets close and you still don't have things in order, go to France for a day and come back and boom you get another 6 months.  But you will want to get to work ASAP so that you can be legally employed.  Do check out the site I think you search under Home Office or something like this.
