US Ebay With UK Paypal?

Question

I have an unverified UK paypal account and I want to know if it would be possible for me to add US funds and buy things off of the US ebay website with my UK paypal account. And then be able to have it shipped to the US. Is it alright? (I live in the US, but a friend just made me an account when I was out and I have a little bit of money in it and I was just wondering. ( I don't want to send my money to a US account though so please no answers like that. Anyone who answers gets 10 points.

I think it should be ok - You can even just add a Visa/Mastercard to it and pay through that. And ebay always converts the money from dollars into pounds etc so I think it's fine

Sounds like a scam. Otherwise why not just transfer the funds? And why is the account "unverified"?

Additional Info:  Some people have been known to have their items shipped to an address that is not linked to their account and then say that it never arrived. Example, if I, as a seller, sell to someone whose address is in the UK but ship to an address in the US, I will have no proof of shipment to that buyer if he says that he never got the package, therefore allowing Paypal to reimburse the buyer and remove the funds from my account. If you check some of the questions in the ebay community forums, you will see that this is quite a problem. Perhaps your situation is legit; but I, as the seller, can, and probably would, choose to not do business with you.
