US Election and how to vote for none?

My wife will have the privelege to vote first time in US election and she likes both parties on some points and on some points she don't like either.

She want to vote but she want that vote to be recognized for "NONE" i.e make it void( we think that is also an expressions of choice".

How can one vote for none without being absent from voting and without voting for the independent candidate.

Please help.

Thanks

  1. Use the write-in and enter "None".

  2. you can write in whoever you want (that is if you are not using an electronic voting machine which does not allow it).  If you don't want to vote for either of them or and independedt candidate, you should check out the Libertarian candidate.

  3. On many ballots there is a place where you can write in the name of a candidate.  If you really want to vote for neither but want it to actually count, you must write in a name.  What some people have done in the past is write in the name of a fictional character, such as Mickey Mouse or Snoopy.  In some local elections, these cartoons sometimes got such a large proportion of the vote that it attracted the attention of the real live candidates.  I think this is your best bet.  You are actively voting but you are not rewarding any actual candidate.
