US Girls’ Junior Championship: Ashlan Ramsey playing great golf
Ashlan Ramsey won her first round at the US Girls’ Junior Championship with a score of 5 and 4 in her favour.
Ramsey, who is just 16 years old, had great fun in the opening stages of the prestigious event. She drew Danielle Lee as her first round opponent.
Lee, who also hails from America, is considered to be a great player. As expected, the match between Ramsey and Lee was tough and exciting.
Ramsey managed a win by a narrow margin. She scored 151 points in the first round of the US Girls’ Junior Championship. Lee, on the other hand, shot 157 points. This minor lead was the deciding factor in the match and Ramsey will now go on to play in the
next round.
This round will be more challenging, especially for Ramsey, who will play it against Amy Lee, another skilled player. The experts predict another tough match with the win coming through a narrow lead.
If Ramsey manages to win the next round, she will move into the final stages of the Championship. This will be the real test for the American golfer who has demonstrated great golf skills so far. The final stages will see top class players battling it out
for the coveted prize.
Experts say that the real opposition to Ramsey’s plan of winning the US Girls’ Junior Championship will come from three players - Lydia Ko, Ariya Jutanugarn and Minjee Lee.
Minjee Lee is an upcoming Australian player who has played in both national and international events. She is putting this experience to good use in the Championship and is expected to reach final rounds easily.
Ariya Jutanugarn, the defending champion of the Championship is also coming up the ranks. She has tasted victory in the Championship and is now determined to defend her title.
Last but not in any way the least, Lydia Ko is a real threat to every player in the event. She is the current number one amateur in the world and has the skills and determination to beat any player in the tournament.
Ramsey is going strong in the event and experts are hopeful for a high place on the leaderboard for her.
