US Male Cadets shine at 2011 Pan American Youth Championships: Fencing News
The United States male junior fencers performed incredibly, during the second day of 2011 Pan American Youth Championships. United States male junior fencers took the victory in Men’s Y-10 category by conquering nine medals including three
gold medals, two silver and four bronze medals.
United States' Jalen Thornley kept himself on the top of list in Men’s Y-10 Sabre category as he won the gold medal of the day in the Sabre event. After winning all the bouts in pool matches, he reached in the elimination round. Eventually, he was standing
against his final opponent Kamar Skeete of his own country for play-off. With an easy victory against Skeete, Jalen took the title of the day. Skeete ended his bouts with a silver medal victory. Another US Junior, Christopher Walker, won bronze medal in the
same event. Mexican Hector Lupercio, who lost in semi-final from Jalen, was also awarded with a bronze medal.
As US female junior made a clean sweep in Y-10 Foil category, similarly, US male juniors also amazingly took all the medals of the day.
