US Olympic Sailing Team gets mixed results in 2012 London Olympic Games
Sailing events of the 2012 London Olympic Games have seen some tremendous shifts in the overall results of the US Olympic Sailing Team as the squad members have been performing in a topsy-turvy manner shifting among the ranks.
At the end of third day proceedings, four of the US Olympic Sailing quad teams were placed in the top 10 ranks. At the end of fifth day proceedings, only one of the teams was in the Top 10. However, now, with impressive sailing display on the Weymouth and
Portland waters, three of the squad has moved to the Top 10.
Erik Storck and Trevor Moore showed great determination in their 49er class and improved their ranking once again. They claimed a couple of higher finishes during their regatta run and grabbed the tenth spot of the fleet rankings. The pair is hoping for
a strong run ahead in the remaining days.
The US Olympic Sailing Team tumbled down in the 470 Women class at the end of fifth day but due to a superb come back of Amanda Clark and Sarah Lihan, the 470 Women squad was able to claim the fourth podium place which is expected to improve in the next
races because the weather conditions are quite supportive.
Mark Mendelblatt and Brian Fatih are both doing quite well in Star fleet from the start and have hit the sixth position in their respective standings. They are hoping to get some more points to claim one of the Top three podiums.
