US Open 2010:  Andy Roddick and Tomas Berdych crash out of the tournament
The ninth seeded American professional tennis player, Andy Roddick was knocked down by Janko Tipsarevic from Serbia in the second round match of the United States Open tennis tournament 2010 in a total of four sets on Wednesday. The final match score was 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (4).
The right handed Roddick couldn’t contain Janko’s tremendous shot making during their clash yesterday at the Flushing Meadows in New York. Tipsarevic, on the other hand did manage to serve better in contrast to his American foe, Roddick.
Tipsarevic, took charge of the match after the first set and then never looked back and went on to win the clash and thus successfully made his way to the next round of the United States Open tennis tournament in New York. He was also excellent from the baseline, consistently winning long rallies and surpassed the twenty nine year old Andy right from the start of the match. Janko had never before reached round three of the United States Open tennis tournament.
As a result of this victory, the Serbian professional tennis star, Janko Tipsarevic will take on the seventeen ranked Gael Monfils in the third round of the United States Open tennis Championship in New York.
As far as Roddick is concerned, he won his only major title at the Flushing Meadows back in 2003 and was also a finalist at the 2006 US Open championship. His defeat on Wednesday leaves the Swiss tennis maestro, Roger Federer as the only 'previous U.S Open winner' from the men’s side.
This early departure follows a fourth round defeat for Andy at the grass court Grand Slam tournament and some disappointing results on the summer hard court season, normally his peak time of the season. However, the American disclosed recently that he had a minor case of mononucleosis and said he did not come at the Flushing Meadows with hundred percent fitness.
In another action on Wednesday, the grass court Grand Slam finalist Tomas Berdych couldn’t find his rhythm against Michael Llodra in his first round match of the United States Open tennis tournament.
The seventh seeded Tomas was defeated in straight sets on Wednesday. The thirty fifth ranked tennis player Michael Llodra made his way into the second round of the US open tennis tournament in a total of three sets. The final match score was 7-6 (3), 6-4, 6-4.
The thirty year old French tennis player, Michael Llorda when commenting on his match after the victory said,  “Everything looked absolutely ideal in my today’s match as I served quite well particularly my first serves were tremendous. Moreover, my volley was also incredible.”
Tomas on the other hand managed just a total of three break points, however grabbed none of them.
“I simply didn’t play well in my today’s match and all marks to him,” said Tomas after the match.
In some other matches on Wednesday, the fourteen seeded Spanish Nicolas Almagro advances with a 4-6 6-4 6-4 7-6 (7-5) win over Potito Starace from Italy whereas the twenty fifth seeded Stanislas Wawrinka from Switzerland hammered down Mikhail Kukushkin in a three setter clash. The final match score was 6-3 6-2 6-2.
The 20th seeded American Sam Querrey, also won his match yesterday at the United States Open tennis tournament 2010 after getting the better of his compatriot fellow Bradley Klahn in a total of four sets. The final match score was 6-3 4-6 7-5 6-4.
