I am going to the US Open Tennis Men's Finals this Sunday (9/7/08), but have realized that this Saturday (9/6/08) will have rain all day. Saturday is when they play men's semis and women's finals. If Saturday gets rained out, what happens on Sunday?

  1. The other answer is incorrect. As of morning 9/4/08 they still don't know what they'll do. But this is their announcement thus far. Good luck. I was really looking forward to a Saturday of tennis on tv myself.

“We’re looking at a number of various contingency plans, depending on the scenarios—if there’s rain on Saturday only, and the men’s semifinals cannot be played, or if there’s rain all day Saturday and the whole day is a washout, or if there’s intermittent rain that allows some play but then cancels a portion of the day,” tournament spokesman Chris Widmaier said.

“It’s kind of complicated right now and we’re going to be tracking the weather very closely and making our decisions.”

  2. Well, they would know by Friday for sure, especially if its all day..

It would all get crammed into all Friday, even past midnight and open all courts. The final then would be on Sunday.
