US Recycling spending?

Where would I be able to find out past expenditures of the US government for environmental programs like recycling and alternative energy sources? I am writing an opinion piece about this for the school newspaper.

Most recycling efforts are not cost effective.  They have simply been pushed off on the naive public with lies and left wing propaganda.  I have done several cost benefit analysis studies and can prove I am correct.  However, the truth is never accepted when up against the left wing press and popular opinion.

Try looking at the EPA website.  They have lots of info on renewable and/or greener fuels.  It may also help you to look into the US Geological Survey.  They can show where oil is or isn't and whether or not it's  beneficial to drill.  Good luck!
