US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics enjoys convincing sail at 2012 Rolex Miami OCR: Day 3
At the conclusion on Day 3 of 2012 Rolex Miami Olympic Classes Regatta (OCR), the US Sailing Team AlphaGrapics grabbed convincing finishes in the respective classes. The US sailors in 49er, RS:X Women and Finn classes have made it to the top three podium
places at the end of day three’s proceedings.
The Miami OCR regatta will play an important role in the selection of US Paralympic Team as well as the US Sailing Development Team. Therefore, the USSTA sailors need to perform well especially in the Paralympic classes to be selected in the squad.
The US RS:X Women windsurfer, Farrah Hall had a superb campaign during the third day’s proceedings of the 12-boat Women’s RS:X windsurfing fleet as she managed to claim the third spot overall after securing 17 points in six races. She is now trailing behind
Demita Vega della Ville and Carolina Mendelblatt.
Meanwhile, Erik Storck and Trevor Moore finished the third day on second podium place overall with 23 points in the 49er class. The pair is only one point behind leaders, Delle Karth and Nikolaus of Austria.
The 26-boat Finn fleet saw American sailor, Zach Railey retain his overall lead of the fleet after showing some excellent sailing skills on the third day. He picked up two second and a first position in all three races of Day 3. Trailing behind him are Jonas
Hogh Christensen of Denmark with 11 points and Brendan Casey of Australia with 17 points on second and third podium places, respectively.
