Hey all. Im going to have an interview at the us embassy a month later which is going to be approx a week before my intended departure date. Do you think this is going to be an issue since it is so close. And I am sure that i will have all the documents and convince them about my temporary visit.

Id be grateful if i could get some answers.

Another thing i have to do is show proof that i will come back. the thing is I just graduated from high school and wont be attending a university here until next year. So im not really sure what to present them.

  1. Write the Embassy explaining this. Some state they may be able to make a sooner appointment.

  2. You didn't state which country are you from and how old are you. Usually visa officers are wary of young applicants with no job prospectives and/or family ties.

Usually the best way to show your commitment to return home is to buy a non-refundable round trip air ticket. Given the price of air travel now, that would be too expensive to throw away.

    Good luck!

  3. You'll perhaps have a difficult time convincing them that you'll return. You're not going to the university at this time, by this I mean after you graduate from High school. Even if you were in the university, it's difficult to get a US visa until after you've completed two years. The Consulate considers this more of an investment in your education than one year.

At your age you obviously have no real estate or things of this nature. It may be tough for you.

Do not buy an airline ticket prior to your interview, all consulates will advise you against this.

As the first answerer stated; you haven't said what country you are from. This matters a great deal because the difficulty in obtaining a US visa is directly related to the percentage of non returns from a given country.
