Would there be anything wrong, a American wan married to a Dutch woman, would live in the Netherlands to raise there American Born daughter? The child who has double US/Dutch nationality, is being brought up as a typical Dutch child who speaks English and Dutch, the child’s home bond is the Netherlands, just like her mother, and her closest family bonds will also be with her American father, Dutch mother and her Dutch grandparents. In order word the child is no more Americanized than the average Dutch child.

Would there be anything wrong, if the American father allows this, just because it is the only way that he can keep his Dutch wife satisfied.

Would you do it because it is the only way that you can keep your Dutch wife satisfied (happy).

  1. what's wrong with that?  If you were Dutch living in America and doing the same thing then the child would be an American child.  Happens all the time.  no big deal.

I have family who are living in France.  Guess what, they are both Americans, the child was born in France and has dual French and American citizenship and since they won't be back to America for another 10 years (extended job assignment) the child is living the life of a French child.  No big deal.
