I'm wondering if the US consulate requires a Philippine NSO registered marriage contract? We are applying for K3 fiance visa and the interview is soon but NSO still doesn't have the marriage registered. Its registered in civil records. Not sure why they need NSO documentation when my I-130 was approved using the civil marriage contract.Advice would be helpful time is winding down.Thanx

  1. I suggest that you contact the church/municipality/city you got married in and ask them to expedite the forwarding of your marriage certificate to NSO. Once they have done that, you may now follow it up there. I-130 will accept anything because the certified true copy will follow before visa is given.**

  2. You really need the NSO Marriage Contract Especially in that case that you applying the K3 Visa.. Even your in Phillipines if your Married and you will apply a work, they also need NSO Marriage Contract..

  3. Lots of people in hte Phils. can easily forge fake documents. The US Consular Office just want to be sure that you are really married under the law.NSO certifies this if you have a record in their office. If you don't have, work it out. It is more simplier now not like before. You have to get a lawyer to work it out and it is very expensive.

  4. The NSO marriage contract is needed in order that the Embassy will be sure that it was authentic.
