US eliminated from NORCECA Beach Volleyball tournament – Volleyball news
The North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) Beach Volleyball tournament- Men and Women is currently underway in the city of Boca Chica in the Dominican Republic.
Two matches recently took place between the United States Beach volleyball of both men as well as women and saw both the squads being knocked out of the championship.
The US women’s beach volleyball duo consisted of Kaitlin Sather (Santa Rosa, Calif.) And Jessica Gysin (Los Gatos, Calif.). The US pair of Sather and Gysin was eliminated after their match up with the Mexican duo of Vanessa Virgen and Martha Revuelta.
The US women stepped out of the running in the quarterfinal stage of the tournament as a result of which the duo of Sather and Gysin ended up in the fifth place in the NORCECA beach volleyball tournament.  
The match in which the US women suffered a defeat just took 30 minutes to reach its close. The score board showed the following final set scores at the end of the competition: 21-14 and 21-16.
Previously, the US duo of Sather and Gysin had given an impressive performance in the pool play of the championship as they made a clean sweep over their rivals from the Dominican Republic’s team 1 that consisted of Deborah Constanzo and Karla Montilla.
The victory was achieved by the US women’s squad at the following final set scores: 21-7 and 21-5.
On the other hand, the US men’s beach volleyball team of Evan Engle and Stafford Slick were bettered by their counter parts from Dominican Republic. The double elimination men’s tournament match took 42 minutes to reach its close and saw the pair of Luis
Adames and German Recio take the win in a sweep. The score board showed the following final set scores: 21-19 and 21-19.
After the loss against the pair from Dominican Republic, the US men’s beach volleyball team had a match with Canada’s pair of Joshua Binstock and Martin Reader. The contest was a consolation match but unfortunately for the US duo, they could not get their
hands on the win and lost in another 42 minutes at 21-17 and 21-17.
