US government...why cant i bring....?

i brought my bible to school last year to read in reading class.(we are aloud to read what ever we want) and i got suspended for bring the bible. are they aloud to do that?

Goodness, I would not think that you could have been suspended for bringing a Bible to read in an "open reading" class.  

Perhaps you should get in touch with your local chapter of the ACLU.  Surely, they would defend your right to read the Bible in school!

Write a letter to the Editor of your local newpaper. Let everyone know what happened. You will have lawyers breaking down your door to help you to sue the school district. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton might even show and get arrested.

i think that is bull. Freedom of religion does not mean the banishment of religion. Its not like youre forcing your opinion on them. you are reading  for your own faith. You should take this to the supreme court or something. i doubt that would do any good but you could possibly make a difference.

they are allowed but that is horrible.

they cant suspend the kids who are throwing papers and being dumb, but they kick out a perfectly normal girl because she reads her bible.
