US green card holder do i need a passport to enter the US or is my green card alone good enough?

  1. Traveling by air, you must have valid passport of your country and green card.


  2. nope, you need a passport from your country of citizenship

    for example - i gots a green card but my citizenship is german, so i have to have a german passport :)

  3. What you need for the country that you're going to from the U.S. is up to that country, but all you need to return to the U.S. after a temporary absence of less than one year is your green card.

    You are exempt the passport requirement upon your return to the U.S.
