US paramedic with UK degree?

I am planning to emigrate to the US from the UK after I have finished university. I want to get a Paramedic qualification, but what I want to know is, will this qualification be valid in the US, or will I need to take another course to be a Paramedic in the US?

It will probably depend on what state you wind up in.  Your best bet would be to contact that state's Department of Health, and ask what you'll need to do.  Every state has a different reciprocity method.  If they respond with "you'll have to challenge the National Registry of EMT's test", go to their website at www.nremt.org to get an idea of what you're getting into.  They also sell a video & study guide called "Pass Paramedic" online, which helps immensely.  The NREMT is known for a really hard test, and the video shows you exactly how to pass it.
