Basically Bush the second sent in help to aid Georgia as Russia pulls back. Do you think this be settled or will Russia retaliate? If so, why would Russia comply with America?

  1. Russia will protect the 90% Russian population of S. Ossetia. Which by the way wants to unite with N. Ossetia and Russia. But if Georgia attacks again, Russia will go back in and protect it's people.

  2. I think Russia feels tremendous pressure from the world to back down, considering their disproportionate use of force. However, it seems that Russia is eying Ukraine and trying to foil its attempts to join NATO.

I've been following the conflict at Newser.com. Here is a link to their world section:

  3. Russia doesn't care what the world thinks about them, I'm sure they'll care less if we decide to kick them out of the G8...

If they retaliate against the C-17's going over to supply aid, who knows what will happen...All we're doing is slapping them on the wrist.

  4. Yes, why would Russia comply with America?  I believe they are a sovereign nation just like America.  American's would not dream of taking orders from Russians, so why should Russians take orders from Americans?  The aid Bush is sending is bought with our tax dollars.  What if you don't agree with giving them aid?  You are forced to anyway.  America needs to reclaim its world roll as a non interventionist nation, and a nation that allows its citizens to spend their money as they chose.  That is why I support the true Republican candidate for president, RON PAUL.

  5. Russia will not attack if there are significant US forces in Georgia.  Russia knows that it can't win with conventional forces and doesn't want to resort to nuclear war because we would retaliate with our nuclear weapons.
