US residency while living abroad!?

OK, a friend is getting married in August and her husband and her are going abroad after they get married.

How in the world can she get an US residency while she is not in the United States?

Is this possible?

PLease, help!

  1. If she is here in the USA it would be easier to change status - Outside of the USA ?, never ! - Once you apply you CAN NOT leave the country -


  2. She will need to apply for a re-entry permit I-131 before she could go abroad after they got married. To be able to apply she needs to be physically in the US.

  3. She can get residency by owning a home, I know that one for sure.
