US working visa + driving convictions = ?

I am just finishing off a diploma and I have found a company willing to offer me a internship and sponsorship in the USA once I graduate etc, they will provide me with the sponsorship and job offer documents to take to the US Consulate to apply for my visa, (I think its the j1 visa).

However, my criminal record isnt pretty, I have a public mischief conviction from when i was 18 and something like over a 10 year period I have like 9 unlicensed driving convictions (I was unlicensed because I refused to pay a fine i didnt get, not from anything illegal).

Will this now make a major impact on approving my application? I know all my convictions are regarded as misdemeanors and not felonys but d**n, it is quite afew of misdemeanors!

Any input will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  1. The key is for you to be honest on the application, and during the interview.  Bring copies of your court documents to your interview to avoid delays.
