USA 0-1 Ecuador: Tim Ream blunder results in disappointing defeat

In the 79th minute, Ream failed to clear a cross directed at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jaime-Ayoví-c17539, who eluded Ream and headed the ball home to seal the score line.
“You always have things to work on, and that’s something I need to work on,” Ream said of losing Ayoví on the winning goal. “The international game is being more physical, winning balls in the air and being able to see both things – more than one thing at
one time.”
US skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-Bocanegra-c8396 was seen consoling Ream after the goal. In the aftermath of the defeat, coach Jurgen Klinsmann also had words of encouragement for the stopper.
“He’s one of the very promising centre-backs in this country and that’s why he’s in the squad," Klinsmann said. "He deserves to be in the squad and he’s extremely willing to learn.”
The Yanks are now 1-3-1 (1 win, 3 losses and a draw) under Klinsmann’s regime. However, the team has worked immensely in the midfield and defence.
The Stars and Stripes outshot the Ecuadorans in the first half, holding majority of the ball possession. However, the visitors came strongly in the second period and forced the winner.
Ream has been struggling for form on both international and domestic levels. His latest blunder was preceded by a horrendous mistake against Real Salt Lake at home, where his loose back pass was intercepted by Fabian Espindola to complete his brace in the
3-1 win over the Red Bulls.
