USA A2 Women’s Team rosters revealed - Volleyball News
The USA A2 squad was announced today and preparations are under way for the team to compete in the USA Volleyball Open National Championships.
The 82nd annual USA Volleyball Open National Championships is scheduled to start off on Saturday, May 28. The Dallas Convention Centre in Dallas will host the thrilling competition and it will run through to June 4. The annual event will be attended
by athletes from almost all corners of the US. Approximately 534 teams representing both males and females are likely to join the massive tournament. The Women’s National A2 Teams will also be on board to showcase their mesmerizing skills.
The U.S. Women’s National A2 Program has recently revealed 12-team training roster of three A2 Teams. They will be playing in the Women’s Open Division bracket from May 28 to 31. The details of the teams are as followed:
USA A2 Red Team
Kelli Fiegen – Middle Blocker (MB) Correy Johnson - MB Alexis Mathews - MB Kristy Jaeckel – Outside Hitter (OH) Kayla Jeter - OH Madison Kingdon - OH Rachel Krabacher - OH Kelly Murphy – Setter 1 Lauren Plum – Setter 2 Allegra Wells - Opposite Natalie Hagglund – Libero 1 Kelsey Robinson – Libero 2
The team will be supervised by head coach Geoff Carlston, who comes with a lot of experience, while Kim Jagd and Ben Lee will be attached with A2 Red squad as assistant coaches. Carlston also serves as the head coach at Ohio University and has led his team
to success many a time.
USA A2 White Team
Rachael Adams - MB Cassandra Anderson - MB Cursty Jackson - MB Alaina Bergsma - OH Kelsey Black - OH Ashley Frazier - OH Colleen Ward - OH Monique Mead - Opposite Michelle Kocher - Setter Carly Thomas - Setter Carly Cramer - Libero Carli Weiler - Libero
Kelly Sheffield will act as the head coach of the team, while Michelle Chatman and Daniel Jones will assist Sheffield.
USA A2 Blue Team
Brittney Brimmage – MB Ashley Rhoades - MB Gwen Rucker - MB Ashley Bannister – OH Tarah Murrey - OH Ariel Turner - OH Michelle Bartsch – Opposite Morgan Broekhuis Brianne Barker – Setter 1 Taylor Brauneis – Setter 2 Jennifer Bonilla – Libero 1 Francesca Silva – Libero 2
Fran Floy will perform his duties as the mentor of the Blue Team. He will be responsible for leading his team to the top. Brian Hosfeld and Diego Castaneda will assist the head coach in managing operations.
All these players are currently training at the University of Texas in Dallas. The training sessions actually started Monday, May 23 and will probably end one-day before the official opening of the competition.
