USA Basketball team roster???

Question

It's weird to me how kevin garnett, or paul pierce, or maybe even ray allen isn't on the USA Basketball roster. I mean ray allen is a better shooter than michael redd, paul pierce can play defense better than most, and KG doesn't need much to say about him. he's the defensive player of the year and played great in the nba season. And he's much better than carlos boozer. does anyone feel the same???

What Dream Team has the 12 - 15 best current crop of players during any dream team???

1992? Sorry ......... NO!  Sure they have Jordan, Bird and Magic, but Laettner is never in the top 100 during 1992.  Even hyped Shaq is the best college player during that year.

1996... Maybe...

2000? ... No, Vin Baker? Adbul-Rahim?

2004?  ... Not a chance... rookies, Lebron, Wade and Melo??? Okafor?  Marbury???  No wonder they went bronze.

Others?  Nnnnooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

So the Dream Team composed of very very talented players but not composed of the TOP (I mean BEST) 12-15 players of today.

I feel same about KG, maybe ray allen too, but not paul Pierce. Paul Pierce is overrated and thinks he is so great. But if u think abouy paul pierce in the usa team think about the other players already on there. He is a good playere, but he doesn't fit in the same class of Bryant LeBron, Mello and etc. See what i mean. but KG is for sure in the same class of those 3, why isn't he on team tho. BEfore olympics started i heard he was gonna go.

Paul Pierce play defense better than who ?

LoL ... Come on Just because Lebron and Kobe struggled against Boston that doesn't mean it was Paul Pierce ... It was whole team played great defense .. Not Paul Pierce .. There is reason why Paul Pierce never made it to NBA All-Defensive Team in his 10 year career

I would take Ray Allen over Redd anyday for sure but yea ..

Kevin Garnett , Ray Allen , Paul Pierce , T-Mac , Tim Duncan etc didn't want volunteer for The team

I think the biggest argument in the three is Ray Allen because Team USA played a very fast phase. The only reason I see is Coach Jerry thinks that Ray doesn't mix or fitted to his chemistry.

No, they was building this team for three years, its not a team they just threw together, and three years ago you didn't hear anything about none of these guys, plus paul peirce is a selfish player and that is something they didn't want on this team, they wanted players that would adjust to the international game. That why they will be playing for a gold medal.

This team was put together three years ago and has been practicing together ever since.

Garnett and Allen already won gold medals in 2000. They obviously did not want to make the three year commitment required to be part of this year's team.

We used to just throw teams together to win the gold... now, we have to spend three years teaching these guys how to play basketball.  It's kind of pathetic, but at least they're winning again.  And hopefully they'll destroy Spain (again) in the finals.
