Hi i have applied for f1 visa to the usa and would like to know what all documents are required before i go in for Visa. and How are the chances of me getting it in India? Is there a current demand for F1 visas that make them more strict in admitting people? Please Help.

  1. All applicants should be prepared to provide:

    Transcripts and diplomas from previous institutions attended;

    scores from standardized tests required by the educational institution such as the TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT, etc.;

    financial evidence that shows you or your parents who are sponsoring you have sufficient funds to cover your tuition and living expenses during the period of your intended study. For example, if you or your sponsor is a salaried employee, please bring income tax documents and original bank books and/or statements. If you or your sponsor own a business, please bring business registration, licenses, etc., and tax documents, as well as original bank books and/or statements.

    about your chance of obtaining it ? i cannot state that ,it is up to the US to decide .

    i think the financial support part makes harder , and to show that indeed you will go back to your country ,once the studies are finished

    be sure your passport has enough validity .

  2. If you don't know what documents are needed, you have not applied yet. In any case, you can get info at:

    No "current demand" issue.....

    F1 is non immigrant visa. Your educational and professional background as well your family ties to India will count. The actual grant of visa is officer's discretion.

    Say lot of prayers, think positive and smile at the officer genuinely (in other words- don't be nervous) and look him the eyes when responding.

    Just because school as issued the admission documents does not mean you will get the visa. You will have to shown an intention to return to India after studies and family ties. If you already have good education from good school, you will get the visa.

    Good luck!

  3. Your sponsor school will have to be involved in your application.  They should be able to get you all the necessary info.  Just talk to the International Center or Admissions on the campus.  They will help and know everything you need.

    As far as I know, if you have a sponsor school, you will get your visa.
